Sigma Artist Talk with Julia Hetta at Fotografiska Stockholm

Event
2026.01.17

Sigma invites you to an afternoon with photographer Julia Hetta, who will premiere her new book Songen, published by Sigma Foundation. The conversation is moderated by designer and curator Greger Ulf Nilson.

Through an artist residency in Japan’s Aizu region, Julia Hetta presents a story that is as true as it is poetic: a Japanese man sets out in search of the innermost essence of art, makes the long journey to Sweden, and ultimately finds himself back in Japan.

Julia Hetta is a Swedish photographer known for her quiet, painterly compositions. Working with natural light and long exposure times, she conveys a sense of still, contained power in her subjects.
